Virginia Tech forlife Blood Drive - NEED YOUR HELP 
  Saturday, April 26th 2008
  Community Blood Center of the Carolinas 
  (As of today, Charlotte is behind the other chapters nation wide with the number of registrants- Please consider signing up & saving a life!) 
  Virgina Tech Alumni Association has asked chapters around the country to host a blood drive in the month of April as a part of the national Virginia Tech forlife campaign. The Charlotte Chapter has partnered with The Community Blood Bank to host our drive on April 26th; 7:30AM- 5:00PM. 
   
  Please sign up to come and donate blood to help those in our community who are in need as well as supporting the Virginia Tech forlife initiative . You may make your appointment by visiting the following site: www.cbcc.us/donate

  Volunteer at the Wachovia Championship! 
   
      Each year our chapter awards scholarships to rising VT freshmen from the Charlotte area.  Since 1988, this chapter has granted awards totaling $40,300 to 29 area high school seniors who chose Virginia Tech.
   
  We have the opportunity this year again to work with the Knights of Columbus groups from several churches in staffing a concessions stand at the Wachovia Championship.  This work allows us to fund our scholarships.  I hope you will consider joining me in signing up for a shift (or more) at the golf tournament.  A signup page is available now on our web site.  Please visit the site and sign up as your schedule allows.
   
  The minimum age for workers in our stand is 21 for those serving alcohol.  We can allow volunteers as young as 18, but they must be accompanied by someone over 21.

 all the details.
